About

An all-in-one home for everything you write.

Inkling is a writing app for people who write for the love of it: novelists with a dozen drafts going at once, hobbyists writing late at night, and anyone who wants a better place to keep their stories than a pile of notebooks, folders, and half-lost Google Docs.

It gathers the tools writers actually reach for, outlining on a visual storyboard, a character builder, editable world maps, book covers, writing goals, and a “Previously…” recap for every story, into one place. You write in Inkling's own editor, saved as you type, or connect a Google Doc you already write in, one file at a time, and every word stays yours.

The generator never writes your story.

Plenty of tools now race to write the words for you. Inkling won't. The generator is here to support your process, with recaps of your own words and a cover, and it can be switched off entirely, leaving a simple, private place to keep your writing together. When the page is blank, Muse offers a spark from Inkling's own lists and never reads your story. The story is always yours to tell.

Who's behind it

Inkling is a small, independent project, built for writers by people who love reading them. We'd genuinely love to hear from you, what's working, what's missing, and what would make it better. Write us any time at hello@inkling.digital.
